Our story traces back to 1921 when Otto W. Eickmeyer, alongside his business partner Oscar Bruce, founded Bruce & Eickmeyer Sheet Metal Works. Although Bruce’s involvement ceased within the first decade, Otto W.’s legacy endured with Eickmeyer Sheet Metal Co.
Steering the helm, next was Otto R., Otto W.’s son, who not only continued the family tradition but also served as the mayor of Menominee for an impressive nine-year tenure, a record in the city’s annals. The reins of the business passed on to Otto R.’s son and daughter-in-law, Harris and Shirley, who propelled the company forward into a new era. Under their stewardship, our company evolved, eventually adopting its current name (Eickmeyer Heating & Sheet Metal Inc.) and achieving incorporation status.
Eventually, four of Harris and Shirley children and son-in-law took up leading the Eickmeyer Heating charge, and did so up until 2020, when four of them retired and the eldest and his wife, Mark and Anne Eickmeyer assumed sole ownership.
A century in business is a testament to resilience and adaptability, qualities ingrained in our company’s, and family’s, DNA. The journey has seen significant transformations. Current owner Mark has undoubtedly experienced the ebb and flow of change while working alongside his father and now guiding the business with the support of his son, Jason. We take pride in the fact that ownership of our company has always remained within the Eickmeyer family. This distinctive characteristic sets Eickmeyer apart in Michigan. As we look back on our rich history, we remain committed to upholding the values that have guided us through the decades while embracing innovation to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
